The Tiglawigan National High School Alumni
Association, Inc. has already started the construction of its one-storey alumni
building inside the school area last August 16.
According
to Erwin Mabugat, president of the TNHSAA, the project costs about P1,000,000.
As
the Association’s pet project, the TNHS Alumni Center is funded by the
individual alumni who have the big heart for their Alma Mater, their fellow
alumni and the students who are the would-be members.
The
Alumni Center will have four (4) divisions. These will include the alumni
library, alumni museum, alumni conference room and alumni office.
The
divisions, Mabugat said, will be named after the project’s major donors. They
are Nona Doromal Mabugat-Hortillo, 1986-1987 class salutatorian (Alumni Museum)
and Amarie Villarino Chavez, 2002-2003 class salutatorian (Alumni Conference
Room).
The
Alumni Library and Alumni Conference Room are still available for interested
benefactors. Each costs P50,000 donation.
In
his message during the groundbreaking program on July 25, Mabugat said that the
project will become “an ultimate symbol of alumni’s unity, cooperation and love
to our Alma Mater”.
“So
long the building stands here, the Association lives and continue to live”, he
added.
The
guests were councilor Juan Musa Jr.; barangay captain Manuel Escala; Ronilo
Tinio, schools division supervisor; Dindo Ampalla, former TNHS principal and
now the DRVFGMNHS principal; Julius Delallave, PTCA president; Kymbert
Martinez, SSG president; Jordan Sun, consultant for councilors Musa and Owen
Desuyo; the City Media Bureau; the faculty and staff; officers and members from
various batches; and the students./*
